Arrived at destination where scope of work was happening and looked over the job the customer supplied a lot of high-end fixtures to be installed and the old stuff it’s gonna take a lot of time to get off dude I’ve been on there for 35 years I’m making your estimate and send it to Steve the contractor.
Arrived and found the system off. The customer said the blower motor runs and then turns off after a while. Turned the system on and found the motor getting very hot after a few minutes of it running. The motor over heats and turns off. I’m not sure if we can get this blower motor due to the age of the system. 1985. Putting any money into this system is not the best option since it is very old. Gave the customer pricing for replacement of the furnace and air conditioning system. She will call us once she goes over the pricing with her husband
Blower motor not running. Found neutral wire that leaves motor and goes into junction box having exposed wires. Re wire nutted all the neutral wires and secured with electrical tape. Started unit and checked temps, blower amps. System now running.
Found system operational upon arrival. Checked coils, refrigerant pressures, 18 degree delta t. Overall operation is normal. Customer states the program on thermostat may be on. They do not want the program on the thermostat so I put the thermostat in the manual position. Told customer to call back if problem persist.
Found compressor not running upon arrival. Found capacitor heavily corroded. Replaced capacitor and found compressor struggling to start. Added hard start kit and tested operation. Customer states unit had electrical problems and refrigerant issues a couple years back after have condenser relocated.
The condo above had a bad leak due to bad hot water heater, water came down from ceiling and went into customers water heater. Found water in bottom of cabinet blocking air ports of burner compartment, removed water from bottom of water heater so air ports could breathe, re lit pilot watched system and let run for 15 minutes, gas valve showed no error codes, burner burnin strong no orange flames crisp blue flame coming from burner.
No ac. Thermostats batteries were dead, replaced and system came on. R22 system with low suction pressure. Customer stated even when running was not cooling. Gave him estimates to add Freon, informed him that since r22 is banned and there is a leak there is no guarantee it holds. They did not wish to add r22. Informed customer he should look into replacement of system. Customer will contact us in a few months about replacement. System running but not cooling
No ac. System was running normally upon arrival. Customer stated sometimes it would come on and sometimes it wouldn’t. Found first floor thermostat, we installed a few months back, was not sending voltage from the rh rc jumper, he jumper would not stay in place at the rh terminal even after tightening screw all the way, thermostat wire was in the rh terminal but with the jumper not staying in place was not send power to rc. Replaced thermostat under warranty as it was just replaced. System running normally.
Arrived onsite and found system to be operating. Customer took video of fault code. Could not clearly see flashing lights on video due to pixelated video. Could not find equipment on manufacturer tech support app. Says “equipment not supportedâ€. If problem persists will need to return during business hours to call manufacturer.
Gave the customer pricing and went over IAQ options with him.
System working fine, checked electrical, delta t, found there was just a mis-use of thermostat settings, explained and went over the controls with customer, system operational.
