Fantastic, friendly service
Nicole - Holmes, NY
I called (a little out of contract) and got an appointment in 2 days, Danny was punctual, very friendly, and did a great job. He answered all my questions, and pointed out 2 things we needed to remediate (1 of them being we were nearly out of oil, which I missed because our service is automatic). Thrilled, as always, with Folkes professional service. Love the new system where they send a pic and name for who’s coming out, was pleased to see Danny again.
Reliable. Very happy they called to remind me that we needed the service

Our old A/C unit was not working. Folkes sent out a technician the next day. He was professional and explained everything. Unfortunately it was not able to be fixed and they sent someone to give us an estimate. He was wonderful at explaining the process, what we needed and what our options were. We ended up replacing our system and the technicians at Folkes were courteous and professional. They put in long hours to get the job done and made sure they kept the the areas they had to walk through and work clean. I would definitely recommend them!
Help - Holmes, NY
After some debate about an anode today that did not exist in our indirect water heater, we used bleach to hopefully kill the bacteria that is causing the sulfur odor in the hot water. Wishing it will be gone with the wind.

Great, fast service, reasonable price
Nicole - Holmes, NY
After calling our usual company about a loud rumbling from our furnace, and being put off until Tuesday, I decided to take advice and give Folkes a try - I’m so glad I did, and so grateful for the fast, efficient service. We signed up for the service plan, a part will be ordered and replaced next week, and the furnace seems to be running much better in the meantime with no noise and no more smell (our furnace is old and Italian - a great furnace but uncommon and nobody keeps parts on hand). I was so grateful for the rapid response, they were here ahead of the promised time, and they couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. It was a great experience, the price was reasonable, and I really couldn’t be happier. Thank you Folkes!

Checked over operation of central air system. Customer stated kitchen area not cooling. Found one 6†supply duct in kitchen for cooling. High ceilings and skylights. Recommended to either add an additional supply vent to kitchen or an additional system to cool kitchen area. Need to follow up with customer to set appointment.
No hot water. Found water heater leaking, gave price for replacement. Found furnace inducer coming on, igniter glows but burners do not ignite, no propane in tank at home. Home is being sold and not being used. Will contact for moving forward with water heater.
Performed annual AC tuneup on 2 systems. Recommend replacing outdoor capacitor and contactor on First floor condenser. Capacitor was weak. Contactor was chard and pitted, both will fail eventually. Tested Units. Systems operational. Recommend replacing 16 x 25 x 4“ air filters as soon as possible. Drew arrow directions on your handlers. When Replacing, point filter arrow to direction of arrow I drew on air handler.
Customers first floor thermostat had no power, pulled face off thermostat and noticed C wire wasn’t connected at thermostat which customer has a nest thermostat which need constant power, went to air handler and c wire not connected, connected C wire to common wires shared with Condenser, thermostat completely dead had right light blinking on top of thermostat indicating it was charging, could take up to a hour to charge.
Installed first company air handler in attic with Amana condenser, reconnect heating pipes, 20x20 media filter, T6 thermostat, secondary emergency drain pan with float switch, new zone panel. Installed first company air handler with Amana condenser, new lineset, condensate pump, new return box, 20x20 media filter, nest thermostat (existing), both systems working properly. Installed oil fired peerless boiler with Beckett burner, peerless partner indirect water heater, all new components required by boiler installation, pipping and wiring as needed for a 3 zone system (circulator pumps), need to add antifreeze before winter. All ducts and trunks have been cleaned for both systems. Vents were wiped down with disinfectant wipes as well as the boots.
Recharged two systems to get home owner by until we will come replace system.
Arrived at customers home for routine water test. Found two waterwright units one being an acid neutralizer ad the other a softener which was a 1044. The water was tested with the units in service and we found 8 grains of hardness, TDS was 154, iron content was minimal. Tested water in bypass and got the same results. The system in place is not working at all. Gave customer multiple recommendations consisting of the premium option, down to the basic option.
Found coil frozen solid upon arrival. Spoke with customer about replacement. Has already recharged systems a couple times. Wants estimate on oil boiler, water treatment , air handlers with hydro coils and two ac systems.
Completed annual clean and service of two ac systems. Replaced two merv 11 (20x20x4) air filter. Cleaned all coils. Cleared all drains. Took temperatures and pressures. Found no issues to report at this time. Checked all zones.

Inspected air vents, expansion tank, water feeder, back flow preventer, relief valve, circulater pumps, and pressures. Replaced oil filter, pump strainer, and burner nozzle. Performed combustion and efficiency test. Tested unit. System operational.
Customer stated that second floor unit not cooling, air handler coming on but no cold air produced, went to condenser to find only fan running and not compressor, found burnt wire from capacitor, tested capacitor which was dead, installed new capacitor and new stake on to burnt wire, tested pressures for second floor unit which looked good, also checked pressures for first floor unit as well which looked good. Units do need to be serviced haven’t been serviced in awhile, units have R22 refrigerant and let customer know about products being obsolete. Both systems operational and working.
Found first floor central air system not cooling heard air coming from vents, went to condenser fan blowing cold air, tested capacitor which was dead. Replaced with new 35/5 dual run capacitor and compressor came on, tested standing pressures which were normal, delta t reading at 16 degrees. System operational and working.

Completed annual clean and service of one oil fired boiler. Replaced filter , strainer , and nozzle. Brushed and vacuumed chamber. Performed combustion and efficiency analysis. Performed smoke test. Found air scoop HEAVILY corroded. Need to order part and return to replace. Also recommend to replace expansion tank due to corrosion from air scoop leaking over top of tank. Also completed annual ac tune up of one system. Replaced customer supplied CUSTOM MADE 24x28x1 filter. Took temperatures and pressures. Found capacitor leaking heavily and rusted. Replaced capacitor with a turbo 200X. Recommend duct cleaning.
Found primary defective. Unit cycled on and off about 10 times on its own. Replaced primary and system ran normally. Let system reach temperature and shut down at high limit. System running normally.
Gave customer estimate for 50 gallon electric water heater, home has a 80 gallon tank that’s 17 years old, customer doesn’t want such a big tank. Customer will think about price and options and let us know.
Performed annual maintenance on air conditioning system, changed customer provided Merv filter 20x20x5, also recommended UV light system to customer due to mold build up on filter, cleaned indoor coil, cleared condensate trap which when I did so found crack on condensate trap, replaced with new trap and union, tested blower capacitor which tested out of range, replaced with new 10Uf capacitor, took delta T reading which was 17 degrees, at condenser tested pressures which were normal, tested capacitor which tested in range, contactor in good condition, outdoor coil in good condition, all amp readings for compressor and fan motor normal, system operational and working.
Arrived and the first floor hydro system was blowing cold air. Found an air pocket. Purged the zone and tested the system. No other issues to report.
Ac tune up x2. Checked pressures, capacitors, contactor, temperatures, replaced filters. Both condensers had mouse nests and low reading capacitors as well as both contactors are in rough shape, pressures seemed ok however customer has had a history of leaks with both units over the past few years. Gave customer estimate to replace 2 turbo 200s and 2 contactors, recommended that he is going to need to replace both units more and investing a significant amount of money into these units is not recommended. Customer agreed and would like to set up a comfort advisor appointment to replace both systems.
Cleaned and serviced one oil boiler with MA. Vacuumed combustion chamber and around boiler, changed filter nozzle and strainer, tested water components, expansion tank is getting old and boiler pressure right at 22 PSI, left customer estimate, also noticed air vents are heavily corroded, when testing system second floor zone valve sticking, performed combustion and efficiency test which system looked normal. Customer renewed maintenance agreement.
Cleaned and serviced one oil boiler with MA. After cleaning had trouble keeping boiler running kept shutting off would run for about 5 seconds cut off and recycle, at first put exact nozzle that came out of nozzle assembly, found cad cell eye not seeing flame due to weak flame, increase nozzle from 80 80A to 85 80B cycled system and system stayed running performed smoke test and efficiency test and all levels are normal. Customer renewed maintenance agreement.
