Primary control tripped upon arrival, reset system and fired let run for 15 minutes. Tapped on primary about 10 times cycled system around 15 times. Tested for voltage drop at aquastat but didn’t get any. System ran for over and hour with customer and I watching it. Possibly aquastat relay sticking which is not sending power to primary but that’s a guess. System operational

Arrived at customers home to install a 80 gallon indirect water heater and a water softener. I turn off the water feed to the water heater and began draining it down, once drained down I began disconnecting pipes from water heater and proceed to remove water heater. Set new water heater and place and began reconnecting water lines. Turned of main water and began piping connections for water softener added salt and ran startup operations on water softener. Customer had heat and warm water at time of departure.

Arrived at customers home to inspect clogged kitchen sink. Ran water in kitchen sink to test the drain and sink was draining very slowly I removed trap from underneath sink and proceeded to attempt clear line with pistol snake. Reattached trap and ran water to test draining and water was still draining slow from sink. I then further inspected piping for drain under kitchen sink and noticed a plug on top of the tee for drain and removed cap and water flowed freely I then conclude that someone plugged the top of the tee that was meant to serve as the vent for the kitchen sink. Ran water for approximately 5 minutes to ensure that sink was draining properly before departure.

Arrived and customer said the leak was coming from the air vent on the bottom of the boiler. Turned the boiler on for heating and hot water multiple times and it did not leak. Gave customer pricing to replace the air vent anyway. Her and her husband both want to wait to replace it since it’s not a big leak and it isn’t happening today.

Customer getting strong rotten egg smell from furnace exhaust. Exhaust smells very bad, system not exhausting properly. Inspected heat exchanger for cracks but did not see any. Performed combustion and efficiency test the PPM readings jumped to 3000 shutting off my combustion tester. System has a locked heat exchanger will need estimate to replace heat exchanger unsure if carrier just sells heat exchanger. Also if carrier doesn’t have heat exchanger customer is going to need estimate for residential replacement. Filled out service follow up form. Turned everything off at unit.

Arrived at customers home to give an estimate for a indirect water heater. Told customer since family is larger one solution to running out of hot water is going a size up. Also noticed customer had a well tank but no water softener and advised that the corrosion and calcium build up on pipes and fixture would be solved if a water softener was installed
